Lighting up Grillstock 2017

Utopium supplied a range of lighting, rigging, screens and cameras to an expanded Grillstock Festival as it returned to Bristol for a weekend of meat, music and mayhem, 1-2nd July 2017.

Thousands of meat-hungry revellers soaked up the sun at the new look Bristol Harbourside site for Grillstock 2017, which witnessed mouth-watering barbeques, eating competitions and live music from the likes of The Pharcyde, The Darkness and Hot 8 Brass Band.

Utopium supplied lighting throughout the festival site at a number of areas including the main stage, Weber’s demo stand, the main bar and the King of the Grill stage. For the main stage, Utopium provided a flown lighting system and floor package which included Martin Mac Aura XB LED Washs, Martin Mac Quantum LED Profiles, Chauvet Rogue RH1 Hybrids, SGM Q-7 LED Flood/Blinder/Strobes, 4 Lite Molefays and LED Starcloth to dress the back of the stage.

Utopium also provided rigging for the main stage in the form of 12m and 6m trusses, 6m video truss, 5m lighting ladders, Prolyft Double Braked hoists, and the team also provided the PA suppler, CLEE Audio, with hoists to fly their system.

Utopium also engaged with Production AV to provide the event screens and cameras, including a 6.4m x 3.4m video wall for the main stage, cameras for relay of images to screen, studio channels for use at the front of house and on-stage, full HD Camcorders for use as locked off shots on stage or as appropriate, 1 full HD PPU with all the control hardware and a Vision mixer operator to control the mix and direct the cameras. The team also supplied two plasma screens with a camera and operator for the Weber stall.

Working with the team at Evans Audio Visual Staging, Utopium also supplied 8’ x 8’ Drum riser and 8’ x 2’ DJ risers for the main stage, a 7.2m x 2.4m stage with an 8’ x 2’ DJ riser for the main bar and a 6m x 4.8m stage for the King of The Grill stage.

The team also supplied a DJ/Disco package, hazer and festoon tent lighting to the main bar, and lighting to the Rodeo Bull, Grillstock Stand, Grillstock Bar, as well as the general Festoon site lighting.
